Volunteer Co-ordinator at Knowle West Media Centre

Volunteer Coordinator
22.2 hours (3 days a week), short term – 3 months
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and manage a team of volunteers for the pioneering Social Mirror project. You will achieve this by setting up and supporting a new community-based volunteer programme. Working closely with KWMC and the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) you will support volunteers to work within the Knowle West community to reach people at risk of social isolation.
You will have:
  • At least one year’s experience of volunteer management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of current legislation and models of best practice relevant to working with volunteers
  • An awareness of and sensitivity to the needs of volunteers
  • Experience of working within communities and/or regeneration areas
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and manage and prioritise your work load
  • Computer literacy and the ability to help others use technology (tablet computers)
  • The ability to develop new initiatives and to respond to the changing needs of our organisation and its volunteers.
